Banks, fintechs, and workforce apps can offer advances backed by payroll data without building payroll integrations of their own.
Clair Connect allows workers to access payroll-connected wage advances in their banking and fintech apps, and offers a more seamless On-Demand Pay experience for its users
NEW YORK - Clair, the embedded earned wage access infrastructure powering payroll and workforce platforms, today announced the launch of Clair Connect, bringing payroll-connected On-Demand Pay to the apps millions of workers already use.
Clair Connect links workers to payroll partners directly, allowing Clair to offer its payroll-connected On-Demand Pay experience in any banking, fintech, or workforce app. The hundreds of thousands of Clair users not connected to payroll, a group that is approved at far lower rates, will now be able to get payroll-connected On-Demand Pay for the first time.
“We built Clair Connect for our payroll-connected users to be able to get pay advances in whatever app they use, and for our payroll partners to reach them wherever they are,” said Clair CEO Nico Simko. “Connecting the work we do with workforce platforms and payroll partners is how we are building a network to make consumer credit more accessible for workers.”
Clair Connect works by matching a worker’s identity to payroll partners, followed by a simple two-factor authentication. Partners do not need to build their own payroll integrations to offer this; the advances are originated by Pathward, a nationally chartered bank, and Clair handles the underwriting and servicing.
The product will begin to roll out to partners across workforce management, banking, fintech, and consumer finance, with the first partnership to be announced in the coming months.
