FAQs

Do I have to pay to take a wage advance?

It’s free to take a wage advance on your Clair Debit Mastercard®. Coming soon: If you want to send your wage advance to an external debit card instead, you will have to pay a small transfer fee.

Why do I need to update my direct deposit to use Clair?

Clair gives you access to money for advances with no fees and no interest, and automatically deducts any advances taken from your next paycheck.

What do I have to do to use Clair?

As soon as you update your direct deposit and your first paycheck arrives in your Clair Spending Account, you’ll unlock free instant access to your earnings, new digital bank accounts, and your Clair Debit Mastercard®.

Can I use Clair if I don’t want to update my direct deposit?

Coming soon: If you’re not ready to update your direct deposit to your Clair Spending Account, you can still use Clair! Instead of accessing your wage advance on your Clair Debit Mastercard®, you will have to pay a transfer fee to send your wage advance to an external debit card.

How do I know if my employer offers Clair?

Look for a ‘get paid early’ button on the time clock or work app where you clock in and out of work. If you don’t see a button, ask your manager if Clair is available to you.

How do I get started if I don’t have a code to open the Clair app?

If you don’t have a code to open the Clair app, Clair may not be available to you yet. You can sign up for our mailing list, and we’ll let you know when Clair is available to you!
