What does it mean to freeze my card?
Freezing your debit card will temporarily disable it from being used for transactions. For example, if you were to try to use a frozen debit card at a grocery store, the transaction would be declined. This is useful for times when you've misplaced your card and want to ensure that if someone were to find it, they wouldn't be able to spend with it. Once you've found your debit card, you can simply unfreeze the card through the Clair App*. You can freeze and unfreeze your card whenever you like.
If after looking you still cannot find your debit card, you can permanently cancel this lost card by ordering a new Clair Debit Mastercard® via the Clair App.
To order a new card:
Click the “Card” tab in your Clair App
Click “Replace My Card” button
Indicate why you are requesting a new card (i.e. “my card is lost”, “my card was stolen”, “my card is damaged”)
Finalize this replacement by hitting the “Replace My Card” button
If you order a new card, remember:
You will need to activate your replacement debit card before you can use it for purchases. Be sure to update any recurring payments or subscriptions with your new card number.
Your Clair Spending Account will remain open even if your debit card is frozen or canceled. This means that if you direct deposit of payroll into your Clair Spending Account, your paychecks will still deposit into your Clair Spending Account and you can still access Clair On-Demand Pay, transfer money to your other accounts, and request to send a check.
